Herbalife proudly created it's first Casa Herbalife project in the UK in August 2006 with a kick-off grant from the Herbalife Family Foundation to match fund raising by Distributors in the UK. The Casa Herbalife programme works with existing charitable organisations around the world to improve access to healthy and nutritious food, and to promote healthy and active lifestyles for children and young people. In the UK the Herbalife Family Foundation has partnered with NCH, the childrens charity, to create a Casa Herbalife programme at Hackney Young Carers in East London.
There are more than 150 young carers in Hackney who are aged between 5 and 18 who, for one reason or another, have become the primary carer for a member of their family or household and who live in poverty. The Casa Herbalife programme provides these children with access to education and hand's on training in the preparation and cooking of low cost but nutritious and healthy meals. More recently the programme has also expanded to focus on providing greater access and encouragement to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. The programme also provides invaluable social opportunities for the children to interact with others who face the same challenges that they do.
We really need your help with this project. The Casa Herbalife programme at Hackney Young Carers relies solely on the money raised by Herbalife, through the activities of it's staff and Distributors. Without that help this programme could not exist. Every donation, however small, means a lot to the children who benfit from the programme.
Herbalife also plans to expand it's Casa Herbalife activities to other locations in the UK if sufficient funding can be raised.

Latest update on funds raised for Casa Herbalife:
On May 8th 2008, Herbalife UK has handed over more than £15,000 to NCH, The Children's Charity as part of its ongoing commitment to the Hackney Young Carers project in London. In addition to the amount recently handed over, NCH were already in receipt of £5,000 of funds for use in 2008, making the total amount donated over £20,000.
